Several years ago I moved into a new house in a rural area that has not been delivered by the next municipal water system removed. My source of fresh water is an artesian well. The water is of excellent quality, but it is very hard water. I did not understand the term "hard water" for several years, but finally they are grappling with issues associated with hard water.

I have a Culligan water produced by air conditioning, when I moved into my apartment. I thought it was aWater softener. Everyone is called a water softener and that's what I called it. I am a little 'discouraged with the performance of the system and began a speech. The Culligan system requires the addition of hydrogen peroxide is working properly and I was almost 10 gallons per month. My water was still showing some of the iron and the system pressure was significantly decreased.

I began researching water softeners. To my surprise, was not operating a water softener. It was only a "deluxe waterFilter ". The water was passed through a bed of media, the history of filtered water, but do not soften. I realized at that point that two completely different processes were involved in proper water treatment.

For the best quality water, the water must be filtered and should be "softened." I found that the softening process, dissolved minerals, which can pass through a filter to remove.
